What does this mean for the NSW innovation ecosystem?
Funding from the Budget will activate the Innovation Blueprint through several targeted initiatives:
- $38.5 million to grow Tech Central into a vibrant centre for innovation, research, and urban life
- $20 million for the Emerging Technology Commercialisation Fund, aimed at scaling innovation in housing, clean energy, and local manufacturing
- $4 million to support women and culturally diverse founders, especially in Western Sydney and regional areas
- $6 million to continue the Minimum Viable Product Ventures program, helping startups become global success stories
- $6 million to launch an Innovative Manufacturing Adoption Fund, enabling local manufacturers to modernise and grow
- $4 million to build a Housing Innovation Network and Construction Program, encouraging new solutions to accelerate housing delivery
