MVP Ventures Grant Eligibility Checklist

  • Has an active ABN
  • Is headquartered in NSW (registered office and principal place of business)
  • Has an account with an Australian Authorised Deposit-taking Institution
  • Is a company incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) or an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Corporation under the CATSI Act 2006
  • Holds Intellectual Property (IP) or rights to commercialise the product
  • Has ≤ 10 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees (including founders)
  • Has an aggregated turnover ≤ $400,000 per year for the past 3 financial years
  • Is a sole trader, trust, partnership, or unincorporated association
  • Is insolvent or tax-exempt
  • Is receiving funding from another government program for the same project
  • Is currently receiving MVP Ventures funding
  • Is a government agency or enterprise
  • Has submit multiple applications in the same round

Project Eligibility Checklist

  • Is directly related to pre-market development and commercialisation
  • Will be completed within 3 to 12 months
  • Is conducted within NSW
  • Includes only eligible expenses
  • Involves prototyping and piloting studies
  • Demonstrates commercial viability to customers/investors
  • Is completing product development
  • Involves operational environment demonstrations
  •  Is only for basic research or technical experimentation
  •  Is for internal use only
  •  Is a next version of an existing market product

Funding Stream Eligibility Checklist

Stream 1 (General)

Your business will:

  • Provide a 50% cash co-contribution
  • Submit an ASIC extract showing NSW-based operations and officeholders for ≥6 months

Stream 2 (Priority Groups)

Your business will:

  • Provide 25% cash co-contribution

 Meet one of the following:

  • Women-owned and managed (CEO and majority officeholders are women; majority shareholding)
  • Regionally headquartered and operated (outside Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong)
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander majority-owned and managed (registered with ORIC, NSWICC, or Supply Nation)

Assessment Criteria Checklist

Your product can demonstrate that it:

Innovation

  • Addresses a realistic, well-defined problem backed by industry research
  • Is new or significantly different from existing solutions
  • Provides a solution that meets a market need

Commercialisation

  • Is commercially viable
  • Supports NSW Industry Policy Missions
  • Delivers economic, environmental, or social benefits to NSW

Deliverability

  • Clearly outlines project outcomes, milestones, key activities, and risks
  • Demonstrates team capacity and expertise to deliver the project
