The Role
As an experienced professional with outstanding interpersonal skills, you will be the key tax & business advisor for a busy client portfolio, backed by the support of a dedicated team of Senior Accountants and Bookkeepers. Reporting directly to the CEO or a Senior Client Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
- Building great relationships with founders/executives, including running regular online client meetings
- Servicing clients across all areas of taxation advice and business advisory services including preparing/reviewing tax planning figures and analysis, reviewing FBT returns, drafting detailed tax memorandums, preparing cash flow forecasts and management reports, and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns
- Undertaking mentoring associated with selling, internal management skills and advanced tax specialities
- Proactively seeking out and securing new clients and business opportunities
- Supervising and training the rest of the accounting team, whilst working with them to develop their teams’ technical knowledge
- Conducting strategic client meetings and workshops, as well as supporting client software selection, providing business mentoring, strategic tax planning and structured advice

Your Keys to Success
- 7+ years’ local chartered firm experience, including 2+ in a supervisory capacity, with extensive tax, business advisory and portfolio management expertise
- A values-based, hands-on and motivational leadership approach
- Sharing your advanced tax technical knowledge with senior tax accountants and clients
- Strong time management skills, with experience in efficiently managing a complex workload
- Proven ability to develop strong client relationships and manage a large and active portfolio
- An approachable, friendly and professional manner that fosters respect and loyalty from both staff and clients
- Highly developed team leadership and performance management skills
- A proactive approach to driving continuous improvement and enhancing the firm’s culture
- Experience in using Xero (ideal) or other specialised accounting software
- CPA or CA qualifications are desirable, but not essential
